This garden design has created a delightful oasis in the centre of town. The high walls and Victorian housing around the perimeter creates some difficult conditions with dry shade and poor soil coupled with some unexplained areas of damp.

The garden is 'L' shaped and the design uses the foot of the 'L' as a central focus which is seen from all areas of the garden. The pergola splits the garden in two without taking away the space, which is already limited. It also helps to screen some of the prying windows beyond.

The small sitting area close to the French doors picks up the maximum available sun in the garden and has become a true extension to the house.

Overall a relaxing and pleasing garden design.
